Symbolic Ceremonies
A Symbolic wedding is a ceremony where the couples declare their life-long commitment, love and dedication to each other, in front of friends and family or privately without any guests. This option enables couples who, for personal reasons, do not desire the idea of getting married, but wish for their commitment to each other to be recognised.
As a symbolic ceremony is not legally binding, there are no official paperwork issues to deal with and your ceremony can take place anywhere; there are no restrictions. The ceremony itself is very personal and unique; the couple chooses the style and format whether it follows religious lines or not, and can select their own vows, poetry and words which are important to them.
Like a legal marriage, you will receive a certificate, in hand calligraphy, showing your commitment to each other.
This is a popular option for couples who wish to renew their wedding vows and for couples traveling to the UK for a destination wedding (some choose to get married civilly in their home country prior to visiting the UK, to make their marriage legal.)
